With two decades of playing professionally, former Nashville recording artist Matt Hundley has toured throughout the United States and internationally in bluegrass, country, and gospel groups. With a foundation in classical music playing in the Metropolitan Youth Symphony before attending Portland Community College to study violin performance, he moved on to contemporary styles, and worked as a musician, teacher, and songwriter.

After teaching music for over 15 years, Matt has found that the best way to learn is to keep the student interested and motivated by teaching from the songs they love. Students can expect to learn more than just songs; they’ll learn theory, sight reading, playing by ear, consistent rhythm, how to correct mistakes on their own, songwriting, playing in a group, and more!

Whether you have a child picking up their first instrument, want to learn a special song for church, or are returning to music as an adult, Matt would love to help bring music into your life.

Lesson Lengths & Payment Options

We offer a variety of lesson lengths and payment options to best fit the student. 

• Standard 1 hour lesson: $45
• Half Hour Lessons: (Ideal for students under 7) $25​
• Cancellation fee if less than 24 hours notice is given: 50% of lesson fee

DISCOUNTED OPTIONS:

• 4 one-hour lessons paid in advance: $160 ($40 per lesson)
• 4 half hour lessons paid in advance: $80 ($20 per lesson)
• Group lessons: Siblings, homeschool groups, or other groups you assemble can be taught for the same rates as an individual lesson up to 5 students, making lessons as little as $5 per student. The full lesson price still applies regardless of the number of students who show up. Larger groups may also be discussed.
